本系設有三座天文台，分別位於理學院大樓(老圓頂天文台、平頂天文台)及圖書館大樓(新圓頂天文台)樓頂。老圓頂天文台設有自動遙控40公分蓋賽格林反射式望遠鏡，並配備有研究等級的Apogee CCD。新圓頂天文台的15公分折射式望遠鏡配加Ha濾鏡，可進行太陽色球日珥的觀測。平頂天文台配備有40公分自動控制望遠鏡，可以在任何地方以網路連結觀測。本系師生皆可申請利用本系的設備進行教學和研究。 除了校區內的儀器，本系的教師及學生也有機會使用國內外天文台的設備進行觀測及研究。透過與中央研究院天文及天文物理研究所籌備處的合作計畫。本系師生有機會使用位於夏威夷毛那基峰的加法夏望遠鏡、次毫米波陣列，以及位於亞利桑那州的亞歷桑那電波天文台。 Addition to the instruments located in NTNU campus, faculties and students have opportunities to use telescopes located in Taiwan and overseas. Through the collaboration with Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Academia Sinica, faculties and students are able to apply for the observation time of Arizona Radio Observatory, Canada France Hawaii Telescope and Sub-Millimeter Array on Mauna Kea. |
